The Golem Diptych Video Painting

Video thumbnail. Click to play
click to play in QuickTime / mpeg-4 video for iPod / or direct streaming at blip.tv
.
A short experimental diptych-voodle (aka dooble-voodle) featuring 27473 by two animated frozen frames. The Golem Diptych is a Video Painting once captured as two simultaneously shot long takes in Venice, Italy - 2009.11.06. Every single by two frame is now painted. The true beauty of a Video Painting Diptych resides constantly in its single by two frames. Thus this beauty recedes by the cinematic animation/automation of the video - like a Golem and animated, the moving imagery can never leave the singularity of the frames by two and hence recites the painting and beauty all over again - in each singular painted frame by two. The Golem Diptych is inspired by / and uses the work of Anchor Méjans (The Golem Variations - sawed-off cello sample), Speck (the golem calm heat variations cooling test) and rocavaco (From square till round) - all available and very much audible at ccMixter.org.

Drawing no.1 (Excerpt/Trailer)

click to play a short trailer in QuickTime - (moi and b.k. - all rights reserved)
.
Synopsis:
A short experimental documentary featuring 39’ 28’’ of pure Nordic concentration, revealing the silent magic of a conversation that comprehends a complete immersion from its participants.

An immobile camera frames two young women under a meeting. Unaware that they are filmed, the women are shown in deep concentration while they take notes and listen or respond to other, mostly invisible, participants. As viewers of the video we are not invited to participate in the meeting. Neither are we told about its content and remain 'completely outside' of the happening.

The women are shot from a low angle sitting at a table. Faces turned away from the camera we’re nevertheless able to recognize their features. The utmost attentiveness they signal is fascinating and the subtle body language that unfolds in front of us soon captures us. The drama reaches its first peak when they start to interact with an invisible person who is sitting next to the camera… and the women turn their faces towards us…

‘Drawing #1’ is a digitally enhanced video documentary on the issues of observing body and space morphologies. The role of the spectator is given but arguably not the one of the ‘voyeur’. Rather then the hidden and forbidden view, it presents us - not unlike the films of the Lumière Brothers - with a naive cinematic perspective on the phenomena of everyday life, only in this case it’s about the complete immersion of two Bergman-repertory like ‘protagonists’.

A short experimental docu-voodle by bk featuring a group of nymphs at work in Akerselva, Oslo - 2008.08.03. View a minor but nevertheless complex nature of deities condensed and in full concentration as they act down in the river amongst trees and rays of sunlight. The here screened feminine are attributes - supported by jaspertine's wonderful ambient soundtrack 'waiting to come back down'.

Appendix - viewer discretion:
'Approaching the nymphs' (in Quicktime / mpeg-4 / flv / or directly streamed) is a delicate matter - and so is the attribution of the feminine. Hence the male gaze operates with all respect (and the kind permission of the nymphs viewed) - moving one step forward and two back - over and over again. b.k.: hidden video 076-appendix for lomeg-rom.blogspot.com - 2'50''

A short experimental voodle featuring yet another body and space installation - the submersion and immersion and hence emersion and complete absorption of a morphological choreography as it was captured in Vaduz, Lichtenstein - 2009.04.07 - cut up, montaged anew and supplied with the heavy accommodated pure-metal-sonic-media 'bellsong' (by ccmixter's maurixxio).

Histoire d'

.
A not too short experimental voodle featuring a long-take captured in Chur, Switzerland - 2009.04.11 - as some sort of enumeration and calibration of and on the content in the previous post. Shooting from the hip is how a voodler copes with l'air immobile, and hence histoire d' becomes his sleuhting of all the heavy suspects there are. View yet another body and space morphology full of subject(s), object(s), figures, abstracts ... and character(s) - all at some time contextualized by DrFox' "Throat Singing Kargyraa Long Drone in D".
.
"Histoire d'air immobile" is just one of many stories told on perturbative spaces and moving mass...

Still Blind Voodle Hunting Head

.
A short experimental (because first we do, then we see) voodle by moi & bk featuring a blind edit of what once was captured in DogA, Oslo, Norway - 2006.11.28. text to be added... lomeglumiere # 058 " content lumiere" (quicktime / flash / mpeg-4) included... not that it really matters... content is not provided... and what you see is what you construct... this is an automatic voodle... text should be added tomorrow... blind cut-up footage... blind like most of the voodles so far... you see what you see when you see it... soundtrack by biosphere recorded on location... needs a comment too... remember to establish links to records of a life-installation... body and space morphologies are unplanned or accidental (blind and coincidental). This voodle used two minutes and 12 seconds in the making and it takes the viewer exactly two minutes and 30 seconds to view it (if you just view it, that is). This voodle uses crapy footage from way before voodle time and like many voodles it has not the slightest clue what it all is about. Text to be deleted or changed soon...

Abide, Dwell And Take

.
A short experimental docu-voodle by bk featuring an uncut yet somewhat heavy camouflaged long take as an archaic view of and on the voodler voodling. The abide ("You can stay with me while you are in town") is the dwell ("stay a bit longer - the day is still young") that captures various body and space morphologies in Paris, France - 2008.03.20. Follow the "desinvolture view" acting, capturing and loosing it all again whilst accompanied by zikwebs very own dramaturgy called 'Xanadu' - the place all voodles come from and end in, or?

A short experimental voodle by bk featuring some almost forgotten left-over footage brought back to life not quite as it was captured in Beijing, China - 2008.09.24 at 09:31 hours. View how the simple inversion of 'pieces of life' (ccmixter's cdk) makes 'pieces alife', and thus another body and space morphology.
