A short experimental dooble-voodle by moi and bk featuring an oneiric view on sceneries - captured just outside Bari, Italy, 2008.06.21 - and other mindsets. View the moving diptych with Gurdonark's fine soundtrack 'Zugzwang', mashed-up with Skoria's 'Vocal Echo' and some additional local noise.

superb diptych & zungswangs fits well.
the dry landscape outside Bari - on the way to the legendary town of Matera - has a beauteous dreamlike quality on its own. traveling by bus alongside the olive-groves with the scattered Trulli is indeed a surrealistic experience. unfortunately we missed the part which we like the most and that's the reason why we've chosen to treat the voodle as we did.
memory is a strong and vibrant tool to recall past occurrences (...?!?) and thus this dooble-voodle - as a moving diptych in between the figurative and abstract - is the mnemonic device that can serve our memory. ...and it might do so better then a photo-album.

Fantastic! The slight angle difference of the two images makes it really compelling for some reason. All the elements of the piece really hold together well.
dear matt! i didn't see your comment before now - thank you for the nice remark. how's your voodling going - i see you haven't posted on the mattblack since march...?

Hi,
This is Ale, or Skoria on CCMixter. I would love to show your nice film at a local "open mic" for independent films, called Bluescreen, which takes place monthly at the cube cinema in Bristol, UK. If that sounds like a good idea to you, please let me know and we'll chat about it.
I'm so glad to discover this new road my little vocal samples have found...

Hi
Just to say, we just showed it tonight and it opened tonight's Bluescreen event (http://microplex.cubecinema.com/cubewebsite/bluescreen.html ), where it was followed by a trailer of an independent film on Robert Mugabe. We couldn't get the audio working on the computer, so we (the orchestra cube - http://orchestra.cubecinema.com/ ) improvised to it live. The performance was not recorded so it is lost in the wind, but it may have been photographed by members of the audience. I tried to play to it very slowly, on a tabla. Others didn't.
Ale
